I´d like to send my condolences to Scott´s immediate family. Scott was a special individual with a great personality and sense of humor. This disease is terrible and places a great strain on all those that experience such a loss. The recent years preceding his death were difficult and stressful. Josh and Jessica lost a father far too soon, and Val and Den should never experience the loss of their son. Mark and Joanne have to process the death of their brother at far too young of an age.
Michelle and I were able to visit Scott in North Carolina when the disease had progressed significantly, yet we could still sense his personality through smiles and gestures. We could sense his frustration as he was losing the ability to express himself, but Joanne was able to help him communicate as she could sense his thoughts and feelings. I´d like to acknowledge all the effort and care that Joanne provided Scott in the time before Scott returned to upstate New York. We observed a special bond between Joanne and Scott, and she did a wonderful job caring for him.
We like to remember Scott from earlier times. We recall a visit to his home where Brent and Taryn were able to ride on a tractor. I'll try to post a few pictures below reflect more pleasant times.
