Scott Alan Field, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on February 22, 2024. He was surrounded by his loving family as he succumbed to complications from his long and courageous battle with cancer. Scott had immense love for his family and enjoyed the simpler things in life.

Born on November 1, 1959, in Norfolk, Virginia, as the youngest of three boys, Scott enriched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness, humor, and loyalty. His warm smile and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Known for his dedication as a laboratory technician for over 30 years, Scott had an immense interest in science and medicine. He worked in the lab at Memorial Regional Hospital for 27 years, where he made special connections with his coworkers that bloomed into life long friendships. While he was working at Delray Community Hospital in 1985, Scott met Gilda who was working as a nurse. Shortly later, they married on August 8, 1987. Although coming from different backgrounds, the couple complimented each other in the best ways and truly loved each other. Married for a little over 36 years, Scott and Gilda had a happy and loving life together.

Scott had an immense passion for nature that illuminated his life. Any given weekend you could find him in any South Florida park admiring our natural world. His hobbies throughout life included biking, skateboarding, hiking, practicing martial arts, and wildlife photography. Scott enjoyed learning and reading about nature in scientific journals and textbooks. From microscopic organisms to larger animals like sea turtles or sharks, he loved it all. His respect and admiration for nature will be his legacy. Scott's proudest accomplishment was his daughter Angela, whom he cherished above all else. His love and pride for her knew no bounds, shaping him into the devoted father he was known to be. While raising Angela, he instilled that same admiration for nature by bringing her to the beach, parks, zoos, and nature centers. These experiences have shaped her into the person she is today and inspired her to peruse a career in marine biology.

Scott is survived by his wife Gilda Field, his adored daughter Angela Field, as well as his brothers Jay Field and Jeff Field. He is now reunited in eternity with his mother Thelma Field and father John Field.

The memories created with Scott will be treasured forever by those who knew him best. His laughter echoing in the wind, his playful spirit dancing among the trees - these are the moments that will keep his legacy alive.

Services to honor and remember Scott will be held at the T.M. Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass/Weston in Sunrise on February 27th for visitation and at All Saints Catholic Church on February 28th for Mass. A Celebration of Life lunch will be held at  Lakeside Cottage at Tree Tops Park 3900 SW 100th Ave, Davie, FL 33328

In honoring Scott's memory, let us find comfort in knowing that he is at peace, surrounded by the beauty of the nature he held so dear. May his light continue to shine brightly in our hearts forevermore.
