Scott C. Fintel, 65, of Paullina passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Orange City Area Health.
Per Scott's wishes, there will be no formal services.
Arrangements are under the care of the Eldridge Family Funeral Home in Paullina.

Scott Craig Fintel, the son of Wilbert and Irma (Grell) Fintel was born on October 28, 1960, in Primghar, Iowa. He received his education from Paullina School, graduating from Paullina High School in 1979. After high school he continued his education at the University of Northern Iowa and technical school out in Seattle, Washington. Throughout his career he owned the Okoboji Scuba Shop where he taught hundreds of students how to dive, owned and operated Crickets in Paullina, built multistage rockets that required FAA approvals, built his own house, and at the time of his passing was building an ocean-going vessel. Scott never left a creative challenge unmet, including turning a 500 gallon propane tank into a fully optional submarine.
Scott passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Orange City Area Health Systems in Orange City at the age of 65 years, 2 months, and 26 days.
Scott is survived by his two brothers, Randy Fintel of Paullina and Curtis and his wife Kristin Fintel of Newberg, Oregon; aunt, Joyce Fintel and uncle, Marvin Fintel; cousins, Doug, Dan, Dave, and Kathy; also, other relatives and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Irma, cousin, Alan Fintel, uncle Vernon Fintel and aunt, Alice Fintel.
