With heavy hearts, we remember Scott T. Janowski, a cherished beacon of love and service, who left us on January 18, 2026. Scott was a beloved husband to his dear Rachel (nee Michalek), a devoted father whose joy was evident in the laughter of his son, Henry "Hank," and in the gentle companionship of several furry paws.
Born to Thomas and Terrie Janowski, Scott grew up instilled with values of kindness and strength. He was a treasured brother to Mark, who stands alongside his fiancée, Rachel, sharing in the profound loss of a remarkable sibling. As a son-in-law to Mark and Karen Michalek, and a loving brother-in-law to Kristy (Stephen) Russell, Scott's warmth extended to all whom he met, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Scott dedicated over 16 years to protecting his community as a member of the Buffalo Fire Department. His leadership as Captain of Engine 2 and commitment to the Honor Guard and as a NYS Fire Instructor exemplified his devotion to serving others. He was also a call firefighters of the Nantucket Fire Department and former member of Doyle Hose Company # 2 in Cheektowaga. He was a source of inspiration and pride, embodying courage and dedication through his every action.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Scott’s remarkable life on Saturday from 3-6 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 5090 Transit Rd. A prayer service will take place at 6 PM, honoring a man whose legacy of love, service, and dedication will forever echo in our hearts. Flowers gratefully declined. Hugs for firemen gratefully accepted
In this time of grief, let us unite to share stories, shed tears, and above all, cherish the beautiful memories of a life well-lived, as we remember Scott—a loving husband, father, son, and friend.
