(A.K.A. the Master of DIY and keeper of the lawn)
Age 52, of Varysburg, passed away on January 30, 2025 in Batavia, NY. He was born on April 24, 1972 to James Maxwell and Janice Marie Bayer.
Scott leaves behind his partner in crime of 18 years, Lisa Joslyn, who somehow managed to put up with his puns and dad jokes for all those years. He is also survived by his lovely children, Destiny Braymiller (Maxwell) of PA, Autumn Maxwell, Chellcey Joslyn, Travis Joslyn, Ashley Maier (Benjamin), and Brady Ferrin (Madison) of IN; many siblings, Pamela, James Maxwell (Melissa) of TN, Richard Maxwell (Sharon), Terri Maxwell, Sallie Stall (Robert), Michael Maxwell, Michelle Hale (David) of TN; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Scott spent his working years at Select Door in North Java, where he dominated the woodwork game and finally ended his career in 2025, leaving behind a legacy of perfectly crafted doors and shelves that will surely stand the test of time. But let’s not forget his true passions- his garden, his lawn, and his never-ending quest for the perfect shade of green grass.
Despite his battle with cancer, Scott never lost his sense of humor or his love for life, he faced each day with a smile on his face and a joke up his sleeve, always ready to lighten the mood and make those around him laugh.
Although Scott may no longer be with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, the perfectly manicured lawns of Varysburg, as well as the beautifully crafted wooden creations that fill our homes. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and so many others.
Rest in peace Scott and may your jokes echo through the halls of Heaven for eternity.
