Obituary for Scott Harry Miller

Scott Harry Miller, age 54, a native of South Tampa, Florida, passed away surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Scott's life was defined by his devotion to family, his loyalty to friends, and the passions that brought him great joy.

Scott is survived by his daughters, Shianna and Hailey; his mother, Carolyn Miller; his sister, Barbara Miller; his brother, Brian Miller (Gaia); his nephews, Andrew Miller and Daniel Helmick; and his nieces, LaVelle Helmick and Alexandra Miller. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Ann; his Father, Harry Allen Miller and his brother, Douglas Allen Miller.

A 1989 graduate of Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida, Scott went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Phoenix. Throughout his life, he was known for his strong character, generous spirit, and the deep connections he built with those around him.

Scott proudly served as Past Exalted Ruler of Tampa Elks Lodge #708, where he formed lasting friendships and generously gave his time and leadership in service to others.

He was an avid gun and bow enthusiast who deeply loved the outdoors. Hunting and shooting sports were traditions Scott cherished, especially when shared with his brothers and friends. Those moments outdoors created memories and bonds that meant the world to him.

Scott also enjoyed the quieter pleasures of life. He loved reading, playing billiards, traveling, and taking camping trips with his family. Las Vegas held a special place among his favorite destinations, offering fun adventures and lasting memories with the people he loved most.

Above all, Scott was a devoted family man. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with and invest in his family, always putting them at the center of his life. His home was also filled with the companionship of animals he adored, especially his beloved dogs and birds.

Scott will be remembered for his generosity, his sense of adventure, and the deep love he showed to those closest to him. His presence will be greatly missed, but the memories he created with family and friends will live on in their hearts.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, March 7, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Christ Fellowship South Tampa (formerly Manhattan Baptist Church), 4300 S. Manhattan Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33611. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m., with a reception immediately following in the church fellowship hall.
