UTAH–Scott Mitchell Rane peacefully ended his journey on earth with family holding his hand and talking about the things he loved on June 5, 2021. Born February 20, 1960, to Sherwin Rane and Penelope Marks in Los Angeles, California. Scott had a private life. He spent a great deal of it in Chicago and Texas before he moved to Utah.

He was witty, full of sarcasm and was well known for his dad style jokes. He was well respected in his line of work as an accountant. He was a wizard with numbers. Scott loved his dogs (more than most people). Scott could talk for hours about movies, actors, and the hotel industry. He enjoyed music and loved to watch and listen to comedy; he never missed of episode of Saturday Night Live. His hobbies included collecting records and movies and saving receipts (those were his memories).

Scott's memory will live on through his chosen family of friends. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Scott's final resting place will be kept private, at his request. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary.

In his memory, go enjoy a steak at Ruth's Chris, have a beer, and enjoy the company you are with.
