Scott Elliot Rustad, age 72, of Perham, MN, and formerly of Fargo, ND, passed away on February 15, 2026, at Northwinds Memory Care - Perham Living. Scott was born on October 7, 1953, in Glendive, MT, to Eugene and Eunice (Laidlaw) Rustad. His journey through life began in Glendive, with the family later living in Worden, MT, and McVille, ND, before settling in Kindred, ND, where Eugene and Eunice grew up.
After graduating from Kindred High School in 1971, Scott pursued further education at Wahpeton State College of Science, studying bookkeeping. He dedicated over 30 years of his career as a glass cutter at Fargo Glass & Paint. Scott married Sharon Peterson on August 27, 1988 and later divorced. In retirement, Scott found joy in various part-time endeavors, including dealing blackjack, preparing tax returns, and driving vehicles for an auto dealership.
Scott's life was marked by his love of nature, particularly hiking in the mountains and exploring new places. He was a devoted Bison fan and proudly owned two Corvettes, reflecting his spirited personality and passion for life.
Surviving Scott is his brother Ross (Candi) Rustad of Perham; nephew Ryan (Mya) Rustad of Perham; great niece Lauryn (Billy) Gunning of Eau Claire, WI; great nephews Nathan and Blaize Rustad of Perham; and other cousins, relatives, and friends.
Preceding Scott in death were his parents; his nephew Randy Rustad; and half-sister Jeanne Rustad Michael.
In honor of Scott's life, a service and burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo, ND, at a later date.
