Scott Scheynost Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home - Louisville on Jul. 15, 2024.
Scott Scheynost, age 64, of Louisville, KY, passed away on July 12, 2024.
Growing up, Scott played football at Jesse Stuart High School and loved being involved in sports. During a workout at the downtown YMCA he met the love of his life and wife of 34 years, Dorothy. Together, they would raise two kids; Allison and Grant. He coached Allison's soccer teams to multiple victories and played countless rounds of golf with Grant. He is also survived by his sister, Sandy Milum and her children Cody & Nikki, and his parents, Rudy & Linda Scheynost.
He enjoyed many things in life. Among those were cruises with his wife, watching war movies, reading the news and sneaking human snacks to family pets. He was a dedicated lawyer, operating his own law firm since 1996. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1983 and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity. He also obtained his law degree from University of Louisville in 1988.
Scott died with a strong impact on many people's lives and we all aspire to be the wonderful person that he was.
Visitation hours are on Friday, July 19th from 2pm to 7pm at Highland Funeral Home near Bowman Field. The funeral service begins at 6:30pm.

I was a fellow "pledge" at EKU with Scott, when we were in the initiation process to join the Kappa Alpha Order. He was a great guy to be around, as he was the total "team player."
