Keith Eugene Jones, age 75, died Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Henricks Regional Health Center in Danville, Indiana, although he was a resident of Speedway, Indiana. He was born April 21, 1950, in Newark, Ohio, to Frank L. "Kelly" and Sarah Mayne (Kinser) Jones.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers-Larry, Durward, and Jimmy; one sister, Janie; two step brothers-Charles and Robert; two stepsisters- Anna Lou and Ellen. Keith was married five times. His last wife, Kathryn Lynn (Hunter) Jones, the love of his life, preceded him in death in 2013. He is survived by his brother, David Alan (Karen) Jones, Johnstown, Ohio.
Keith graduated from Licking Valley High School, Newark, Ohio, in 1968, and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He worked in law enforcement for over 40 years, first in Newark and Bryan, Ohio. He graduated from the Indianapolis Police Department Academy in 1974. He was Whitestown, Indiana's Town Marshal for several years. After he retired from law enforcement, he worked for Blueline Security Systems Inc. In addition, he wrote articles for police books and conducted numerous training sessions across the country for Police Departments, with an emphasis on safety, thereby saving numerous lives for police and the people they encounter.
Keith will be cremated at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, and his ashes will be interred next to his wife, Kathy, in the Washington Park North Cemetery in Indianapolis. There will be no funeral service.
