Scott "Scottie" Joseph Terrill

Scott "Scottie" Joseph Terrill, 43, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away peacefully at his home on May 31, 2024, following a yearlong battle with esophageal cancer. Scottie was a beloved husband, devoted father, cherished brother, generous fun-loving friend, talented actor/singer, multi-sport athlete, an avid soccer fan, an involved community member and witty and hilarious on game night with friends and family. He was the whole package, you name it; Scottie Do!

Scottie never knew how to fail and tried to fix everything he could. He looked out for his family and friends and helped whoever needed him. You could always count on him to be there for you, no questions asked. He was his children's hero and his wife's rock. He loved his family dearly and nothing was more important to him. Other than his family, his passion was playing soccer....and drinking sprite. Anyone who knew him knew at least those three things about him. 

Scottie grew up in Columbia and Ellicott City Maryland with his cherished family. He graduated from Wilde Lake High School, and then from Pfeiffer University. He worked as a Master Scheduler for inventory planning and control for an Aerospace company. 

Scottie was preceded in death by both of his parents, Jimmie and Nancy Terrill. He is survived by his wife, Angela; son, Liam (9); daughter, Caelin (6); brother, Bradley and wife Sonja of Flower Mound, TX; sister, Megan and husband Mike of Springfield, PA; and nephew and nieces, Micah, Summer, and Keira. 

We will remember Scottie with love and fondness at his funeral on June 15th, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. There will be a visitation at 1:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm. We hope everyone can join us after for a Celebration of Life at Miller Park, shelter #2, to enjoy a room temperature Sprite and sharing of our wonderful memories of Scottie. There may even be a few soccer balls to kick around.

Scottie was always seen wearing a soccer t-shirt of some sort, basketball shorts and usually his flippy flops with socks on. He never really liked dressing up because of all the sweat he produced, so please come dressed in casual and comfortable clothing. He could always be heard laughing and having a good time, so he wanted his celebration of life to be the same.
