Mr. Scott David Spurgeon

Scott David Spurgeon age 53, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025. He was born in Marietta, Georgia and had been a lifelong resident of LaFayette area. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitars of all kinds and spending time with his dog: "Otis." He was of the Baptist faith. Scott worked for many years in law enforcement including Rossville Police Department, Hutcheson Medical Center Security, Georgia Northwestern College Security and Walker County Sheriffs Department. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: William and Ruby Spurgeon, Zernie Calsaw and Jackie Roberts. Scott is survived by his wife: Melissa Anne Tucker Spurgeon of LaFayette, GA, son: David Spurgeon of LaFayette, GA, mother: Sheila Edwards of Rossville, GA, father: Jim Spurgeon of LaFayette, step-mother: Carolyn Spurgeon of Ringgold, GA, sister: Amy (Steve) Tomlin, nephew: Colton Tomlin all of Williamson, GA, grandmother: Evelene Roberts of Rossville, GA, step-sisters: Christie (Greg) Scott of Chattanooga, TN, Beth (Kevin) Hopkins of Chattanooga, TN, grandchildren: Sophia and A.J. Spurgeon, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Richard and Barbara Tucker, brother-in-law: Richie Tucker all of Chattanooga, TN. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm – Monday – August 25, 2025 in the chapel with Pastor Jim Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Goose Pond Colony Cemetery – Scottsboro, Alabama.
