Scott Stelly, a beloved son, brother, partner, and friend, passed away on October 5, 2023, at the age of 33. Born on March 25, 1990, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Scott's life was filled with love, laughter, and numerous achievements.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home from 8:30am until 5:00pm. A Time of Sharing will begin at 5:00pm. Afterwards, the family invites everyone to join them in fellowship with food and more memories of Scott until 8:00pm in the Event Room at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home.

Scott was a true patriot who proudly served his country in the Army National Guard. During his time in the service, he exhibited great dedication and received several medals and ribbons for his exemplary performance. Among the honors bestowed upon him were the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal and Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device, Driver and Mechanic Badge. His service to his country was commendable and demonstrated his unwavering commitment.

Beyond his military accomplishments, Scott had a wide range of interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He cherished spending quality time with his friends and family and was known to light up any room he entered with his infectious smile and sense of humor. As an avid TV enthusiast, he enjoyed watching his favorite shows. Scott also found solace in collecting various items that piqued his interest.

A true dog lover at heart, Scott adored his canine companions Luna and Dom. They brought him immeasurable happiness through their playful antics and unwavering loyalty. His fur babies held a special place in his heart.

Scott actively participated in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) organization. As a member of this esteemed group, he found camaraderie with fellow veterans and worked towards supporting other servicemen and women who had bravely served their respective nations.

Surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing in Leonville, Louisiana, he leaves behind a legacy that will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He is survived by his partner, Orlando Hall; his parents, David and JoAnn Stelly; his brother, Eric Stelly and wife Lacie; his godchild, Kinsley Stelly; his niece, Katelyn Stelly; his fur babies, Luna and Dom; and numerous other family and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Nettie Stelly; and his paternal grandparents, Merlin and Helen Stelly.

Scott Stelly will be remembered for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering commitment to both his loved ones and his country. His legacy will endure through the memories shared by those whose lives he touched. As we mourn the loss of an exceptional individual, let us also celebrate the beauty of Scott's life—a life filled with love, passion, and selflessness.
