Funeral services for Mary Laura Greco Thibodeaux will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond- Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will officiate the funeral service. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Chapel in Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Laura was a long-time resident of Opelousas, LA, and passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Anderson Memory Care in Slidell, LA, at the age of 92.
Laura lived a life characterized by dedication to her family and her work, alongside a deep commitment to her faith. Laura was known for her warm spirit and willingness to assist others. Her professional journey consisted of 25 years at Opelousas General Health System, where she made lasting connections with colleagues and the community.
Laura's passion extended beyond her career; she loved to dance and found joy in gardening. She delighted in working in her flower beds, nurturing each bloom with care.
A devout Catholic, Laura was a devoted parishioner of St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas where her faith guided her throughout life. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Darlene Dupre’, grandsons Matthew W. Dupre’ (Melita), and Anthony Dupre’ (Shanon); and step children Robert Thibodeaux (Vicki); Donald Thibodeaux (Lynn), Craig Thibodeaux (Dana), Sheryl Stansbury (John), Janet Barron (Travis), and Janice Thibodeaux.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ervin Thibodeaux; sons, Gerald Wayne Dupre’ and Terry Dale Dupre’; parents, Frank Greco and Noemie Fitzgerald Greco; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clevens Thibodeaux and Ludie LeJeune Thibodeaux; and brother, James "Jimmy" Roland Greco.
