Scott E. Stephens, loving husband and doting Dad, beloved son and brother. At age 67, Scott has journeyed on after a valiant battle with an unforgiving disease on July 15th, 2025.

Born November 2, 1957, in Fairview Park, to Don and Charlene Stephens. Scott was gifted early with the ability to tinker and build things. He went on to Ohio University to become an Electrical Engineer and spent 42 years in the Electrical Industry holding varying positions of influence. After 20+ years of living in Texas and Illinois, he came home to Cleveland in 2007, to be close to his parents and siblings, Chris Sabol (Tom) and Brian (Donna). Of all his accomplishments in life, Scott was most proud to celebrate his family. Following his arrival "home", the entire Stephens family started vacationing in Cape Hatteras, NC. Countless memories spanning a decade were made and now cherished and enjoyed amongst family and friends today.

Avid mischief maker, action movie enthusiast, and beer brewing aficionado. Scott wanted nothing more than to share his hobbies, and good book finds, with his loved ones. He enjoyed attending baseball games as a legacy Cleveland sports fan and championed the Browns even when they didn't deserve it. From tossing a ball to his son Ross on the shores of Hattaras beach, to his later years, of his 9am tee time on Friday with his little sister, Chris, and teaching his daughter, Sara, his longest running hobby: sailing. Scott lived his life in joy with family. As the oldest sibling, Scott was often the instigator of many laughs, character-building activities and lively commentary, but he identified strongest as the protective speaker piece: family is everything.

His obituary would be remiss to not fixate on the relationship that he leaned into the most to navigate the changing tides: his beloved wife of 14 years, Jill. He was in awe of her empathetic and tranquil attitude, a perfect complement to temper his speed. He lived for sharing time and adventures together, morning conversations and their two bulldogs...often saying "Life is Good."

He now watches over Jill, his children, Ross and Sara, his younger brother Brian (Donna), niece April and treasured matriarch and patriarch of the Stephens family, Don and Charlene. He also stewards as more family to love his stepdaughter Margie (Mike) and grandchildren Melanie (Jake) and Greyson (great grandson), Katelyn, Savannah, Timmy, Mikey, and Christopher, mother-in-law Doris Jackson and brother-in-law (and friend) Glenn D. Jackson.

The family is comforted to know he has rejoined his sister, Chris, as she passed in April of 2024. Scott and Chris have always been the leaders to find the "good spots" for the family to meet-up. He'd like to be remembered for the funny stories, the inside jokes and the camaraderie he drummed up amongst those he loved. His family wants him to be remembered for his unwavering strength through all the seasons of life. He was a pillar. He was extraordinary.

According to Scott's wishes, he will be cremated, without formal service. A casual gathering will take place on a later date. He wants to be anywhere family shared happy times, the places that bring a smile and brought good laughs with lasting memories - quite a vast list. A good indicator of a life well lived. Sail on Sailor, you did good.
