Funeral services for Scott Cem Storey, 53, will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Rd. in Keithville, Louisiana at 1:30 p.m. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Minister Billy Sanders.
Scott was born on August 10, 1970 to Sonja Storey-Johnson in Allegany, Maryland and passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Scott was a resident of Shreveport and graduated from Frankfurt American High School in West Germany. He received a B.A. degree in Training and Development from Texas A&M Commerce. He joined the United States Air Force in 1990 where he served in Desert Storm and Desert Shield before separating from the military in 1996. He worked in the steel industry in Texas and Shreveport. He was married to the love of his life, Lori Johnson. Scott was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, father-in-law, and friend to many. He was a basketball coach and a mentor. He was a passionate person of love and life. Scott was very humble, an automatic leader, and a loving, caring person that always made people laugh.
Scott is preceded in death by his mother, Sonja Storey-Johnson. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Lori Johnson; sons, Christopher, Akia (Rashad), and Amarion; siblings, Samantha, Stacey, Jayla and Jamaal; and a host of family members who will miss him dearly.
Honoring Scott as pallbearers will be Christopher Garrett, Akia Storey, Amarion Storey, Rashad Abdullah, Jamaal Storey, Rodney Jones, and Dale Jones. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Willie Hart.
