Scott Alec Tuttle II passed away at his home in Suamico, Wisconsin on March 30th. A memorial gathering will be held at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home, 1145 Cardinal Lane, Green Bay, WI on Thursday, April 10th from 4 to 6 PM.
Scott was born September 9, 1976, in Brunswick, ME to Scott A. Tuttle and Bonnie M. Elwell Tuttle. After graduating from D'Iberville High School, D'Iberville, MS in 1994, he received a BA in mechanical engineering from the University of South Alabama in 2000. On May 18, 2002, he married Amanda Clare Purcell in Mobile, AL. They were blessed with two sons, Alec and Tyler. The family moved to Suamico, WI in 2010.
Alec, like his father, developed an interest in mechanical engineering so they enjoyed time together working on cars and small engines. Tyler was his fishing buddy who always "showed him up". In recent years, they worked on outboard engines together. Both Alec and Tyler were Eagle Scouts and their father was very proud of them.
Scott, Amanda and their boys always enjoyed the outdoors and would spend time fly-fishing and other nature experiences together in western Wisconsin. Scott also enjoyed spending quality time with his grandsons in Mississippi. Brentley Bennett, Theodore and Elijah Peterson are the children of his daughter Michelle Tuttle Peterson.
For most of his career Scott worked with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). In January 2021, he was recognized by NOAA as "Team Member of the Month" in his support of the Office of Marine and Aviation Operations for more than ten years. He was cited for " outstanding project management and technical expertise" for several projects. Several years ago, he was pictured on the cover of WorkBoat magazine as his ship crossed under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Survivors include his wife Amanda Purcell Tuttle of Suamico; sons Alec of De Pere, WI and Tyler of Suamico; daughter, Michelle Marie Tuttle Peterson (Jeremy) and children Brentley Bennett, Theodore Peterson, Elijah Peterson of Vancleve, MS; father, Scott A. Tuttle of Winsted, CT; mother, Bonnie M. Bruebaker of D'Iberville, MS; brother, Tony Hutchins (Ashley) of Lewiston, ME; nephew, Michael Hutchens (Brittany) of OH; parents-in-law, Doug and Betsy Purcell of Eufaula, AL; and brother-in-law, Chris Purcell (Emily) of LaGrange, GA. Scott also loved his house pets, Rosco, Leroy, Annabelle and grandpuppy Shelby.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Michael Bruebaker and stepmother, Helen Tuttle.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation, in Scott's memory, to Scouting America at https://donations.scouting.org/#/council/635/appeal/7121. Scott and Amanda have been avid supporters of Scouting for many years.
