Michael "Mike" Capion, 78, passed away with family by his side on July 1, 2025. Mike was born to the late Harry Jr. and Eileen (DeMars) Capion on April 2, 1947. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served until his honorable discharge in 1969. Mike married Karolyn Korth on September 4, 1970, and together they spent 46 years before her passing in 2017.
Mike worked for 35 years in maintenance at the WPS Pulliam Plant. In his retirement, he greatly enjoyed woodworking, having completed 6 full cabinet sets, playing cribbage, and having fires. He will be greatly missed.
Michael is survived by his children, Colen (Kassie) Capion and Kerry (Rick Hawpetoss) Capion; stepgranddaughter, Zita Flores; and siblings, Don Capion and Carol Knaus. He is preceded in death by his wife and parents.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 15, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM with Military Honors to follow at Pfotenhauer Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1145 Cardinal Lane.
In lieu of flowers, please simply come and reminisce with Mike's family on Tuesday.
