Scottie Lee Hicks, age 53 years, of the Sandhill Community died Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Baptist Health of Corbin in Corbin, Kentucky.
He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on December 2, 1971 the son of the late Arvil Lee and Geraldine (Sumner) Hicks. Scottie had been a truck driver and was a member of the Sandhill United Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, hunting, watching TV, Grilling, smoking brisket, sitting by the fire listening to music, and being with his granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Hicks.
Survivors include his wife, Lavina “Susie” Sue (Harris) Hicks of Whitley City, Kentucky; daughters, Tabitha Slaven (Kyler) of Marshes Siding, Kentucky and Summer Hicks of Whitley City, Kentucky; brother, Ronnie Hicks of Whitley City, Kentucky; and grandchildren, Noahlee, Everlee, Irelynn, and Kyalynn.
Funeral services will be held 11am Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Coffey officiating. Burial to follow in the Taylor Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5pm Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Funeral Home.
Donations to Scottie's Memorial Fund can be made to the McCreary County Funeral Home.
