Scotty Dwight Waites, 66, of Lenox passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Magnolia Manor.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Lakeview Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Tommy Bussey and Mr. Dale Hayes officiating.
Scotty was born on March 23, 1959, to the late Curtis Lawson and Betty Jean Roberts Waites in Moultrie, Georgia. Raised on the family farm in Cook County, Scotty attended Cook High School, where he participated in various school activities and played football for the Cook High Hornets during the late 1970s. He was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
Despite facing significant health challenges after high school that would affect him throughout his life, Scotty remained resilient and spirited. He was deeply loved by his friends and family and will be profoundly missed. He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Lawson Waites; his brother, Mickey Waites; and his niece, Amanda Jean Waites.
Scotty is survived by his mother, Betty Jean Roberts Waites; brothers, Darrell (Patsy) Waites and Tim (Patty) Waites; sister, Tanya (Dale) Hayes; as well as several nieces and nephews who cherished him dearly.
