Sean Patrick Gaffaney passed away on July 14, 2024, at the age of 42 years old. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. Sean was a kind and compassionate person throughout his life. He was baptized and raised Catholic. He attended Hopi Elementary School, Camelback Desert Middle School, and Brophy High School. Sean graduated from high school in 2001. He went to Boston College and graduated with a business degree in 2005. He worked in loan management for EDMC and later, Northern Trust.
He married the love of his life, Danalee Musto, on February 8, 2015. Danalee and Sean have been living in Gilbert and Chandler since their marriage. They have a daughter, Scarlett, age 8 years old. Sean was a stepdad to Payton, age 12 years old. Sean loved spending time with his family at home, playing games, watching movies, swimming, and cuddling with their dog, Thor.
Both as a child and an adult, Sean was a huge fan of comics and action movies and has a large collection of comics and action figures. At Brophy, he played lacrosse and water polo. He was a skilled chess player. Sean had an incredible sense of humor and always made people laugh.
Sean was a special soul. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He is now in the arms of God, an angel watching over his children.
Along with his immediate family, Sean is survived by his parents, Jerry and JoAnn Gaffaney, and his sister, Jaclyn Gaffaney.
A private memorial service will be held at Whitney & Murphy Bueler Mortuary in Chandler for family members on August 3, 2024. A celebration of life will follow at the home of Jerry and JoAnn Gaffaney from 1:00 to 3:30 pm.
Tributes can be made in Sean's honor to the Arizona Humane Society.
