Sean M. Kobbe

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved son, brother, husband, and friend, Sean M. Kobbe, 45, of Scottsville, Virginia. Sean passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2022.

Sean was born on November 9, 1976, in Corning, New York, to Nancy B. Kobbe and Milo C. Kobbe. A graduate of Corning West High School and University at Albany, Sean lived the first 18 years of his life in Corning before later living in Oneonta, Albany, and Scarsdale, New York, Charlottesville, Virginia, and finally in Scottsville, Virginia.

As a child, Sean was an avid Civil War buff, taking part in reenactments throughout the region with his father. He looked forward to his family's annual spring break trips to Walt Disney World as well as Wiffle ball games in his backyard with neighborhood friends. A big sports fan, Sean will no longer have to suffer by cheering for the New York Mets and New York Jets while watching their inevitable collapses on the field of play. As an adult, Sean enjoyed his numerous daily phone calls with his mother, spending hours preparing elaborate meals, joining his wife as concertgoers across the country, and relaxing in his cherished house. Always the favorite to win a game of Jeopardy, Sean had a high level of intellect to match his humor. As a sibling, he was always there for his younger brother who will miss the years they could have grown old together.

Sean would not want his death to go in vain and would desire that his passing be a warning to all about the dangers of Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome and alcohol.

Sean leaves behind his mother, Nancy Kobbe; father and stepmother, Mike and Linda Kobbe; brother, Ryan Kobbe; wife, Lindsay Brown; and fur-baby, Archie. He was predeceased by his fur-baby, Winston.

With lovers and friends, I still can recall

Some are dead and some are living

In my life, I've loved them all."

Sean's family has entrusted local arrangements to Haughey Funeral Home, Inc.

I just learned of Sean´s passing and I am heartbroken. We worked together in NY for a tv company. He was an amazing man and friend. I will never forget all the fun times we had when we were supposed to be working. I will miss you dearly Kobbe but know I will see you again. Will go see Jerry just for you. Love you always and love and prayers to your family.

Sean, we miss you so much! Our heart broke upon receiving the news of your passing. We offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to your family in these darkest of times. You were apart of some our fondest moments in life. We are blessed to have known you for 20+ years. We will never forget going to Mets World Series together in 2015, countless concerts, incredible dinners in your home and restaurants, endless games of Sorry, conversations that spanned 20+ years, your wit, your knowledge of the trivial, our arguments and the endless amount of love shared. The world has seemed a little less bright since you passed because a smile and a laugh was never far when you were around. We we will always remember you with the greatest fondness and the countless stories created through the years. Ride captain ride! We always consider each other family and with the most profound amount love we say goodbye. We love you forever!

Although it has been many years since I last saw Sean, I will never forget that evening in Oneonta. We discussed everything from sports to family. Our insights were laced with both a profound seriousness along with hysterical laughter. This memory, along with those I have of him as a little guy at the infamous 10 Johnson Road holiday gatherings, will be cherished more now than ever. Nancy, Mike, and Ryan...please know you have always been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be so...
