Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel - Grove CityIt is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sean James Minneker, who left this world far too soon on August 21, 2025 at the age of 32, in Grove City, Ohio. Born on November 30, 1992, in Columbus, Ohio, Sean was a loving son, brother, and beloved friend whose energy and spirit resonated with all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Sean was known as a big protector of the women in his life, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear. His laughter could light up a room, and his personality was a beautiful blend of humor and kindness, making him a gentle giant adored by many. A Franklin Heights High School graduate of the class of 2011, Sean’s years in school were marked not only by academic achievement but also by his dedicated involvement in NJROTC and a passion for football.
To his family, Sean was more than just a loving presence; he was a source of joy and laughter. He cherished the moments spent with his nieces and nephews, relishing in simple yet treasured traditions like fist bumping them and reading "I Love You Like No Otter" regularly to them. His love for family extended to fun times spent eating mustard sandwiches with his favorite cousin and friend, Sam. Sean embraced life with boundless enthusiasm, whether he was enjoying chicken wings from Wings and Rings, cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes and his beloved Philadelphia teams, or discussing history and engaging in spirited banter during MMA fights and video game marathons.
Sean is survived by his father, William Minneker; adopted parents, Mark and Angie George; step-mother, Shelley Blesch; brothers Eric (Morgan) Minneker, Brian Trudeau, and Nick (Madeline) Trudeau; adopted brothers, Michael (Megan) George and Austin McClain; adopted sisters, Rebecca (Nick) Seabolt and Andriea (Devin) Mounts; special cousins, Samantha (Stephen) Tarver and Angelia Reed; aunts Kim Phillips and Kathy (Kirk) Carsten; and his grandmother, Karen Kight Morrison. Alongside his multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, Sean's legacy will continue to thrive through the warmth he shared with those around him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Robin Diane Morrison; grandfather, James Morrison; grandfather, Charles Minneker, grandmothers Rosalie Peck and Debby Dalton; and his cherished nephew, Charlii Jo Mounts.
As we come together to honor Sean's memory, we invite friends and family to join us for a visitation on September 12, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM, followed by a memorial service at 4 PM, held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest, located at 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123.
Sean’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses at Dodd Hall, Mt. Carmel West, and Doctors West for their exceptional care throughout the years. May his spirit live on in the hearts of everyone he touched. Rest in peace, dear Sean; you will be deeply missed.
Sean would be pleased if everyone would wear Ohio State or Philadelphia Eagles attire to his service.
