Sean J. Murphy, 90, of Macungie passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, in Legends of Allentown, PA. He was the husband of the late Dauris (Falcone) Murphy. Sean was born on April 13, 1934, in Curracloe, Co. Wexford, Ireland. He was the first son of the late John and Sadie (Maloney) Murphy. After completing his education at the SMA House on Blackrock Road, Co. Cork, he began his service as a Christian Brother and served in Nigeria for over 25 years. He was incredibly proud of his work there which included constructing schools and hospitals and he even spent some time teaching the Nigerian youth.
After moving to the U.S. he married the love of his life, Dauris Falcone. The pair resided in Washington, D.C. and Asuncion, Paraguay for several years and then settled in Florida. Before retiring he was employed as a sales associate for over 25 years at Ace Hardware where he resided in both Englewood and Sarasota, Florida. Sean was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown and served the Catholic Church as a 3rd degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus for over 30 years. Sean will be remembered as a very kind, thoughtful man who loved to share stories about his life's adventures.
Survivors: He will be deeply missed by his brother and sister in-laws, many nieces, nephews and great-nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Noel Murphy, Seamus Murphy and Marie (Murphy) Waters.
Services: A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 10:00 am in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Avenue, Allentown.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Society of African Missions

I am sorry for the passing of Sean. Sean was my aunts husband. He was very kind and I am happy I got to meet and know him through my Aunt Dauris. When I got married in 2008 Sean said a prayer and a speech at my wedding. JoAnn Grammatico
