Sean David Ross passed away on May 27, 2024 at the Valley Brook Village Apartments for Veterans in Basking Ridge, NJ. He was born on June 26, 1976, in Long Branch.
After his mother, Angela Romance Ross, passed away, Sean was raised by his father and stepmother, Dean and Sharyn Ross, in Red Bank and Shrewsbury. He attended Ranney School, Shrewsbury Borough School, and The Phelps School. He celebrated his Bar Mitzvah in 1991 at Monmouth Reform Temple.
Sean worked as a delivery driver before joining the Army National Guard in 1998. After 9/11, he enlisted in the Army, serving in Iraq in 2002. Post-service, he lived in Red Bank and Eatontown, working as a taxicab driver. He struggled with PTSD and substance abuse but found support through Community Hope.
Sean enjoyed video games, subs, The Simpsons, and the New York Jets. He was a skilled chess player and World War II buff.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Dean and Sharyn Ross; sisters, Melanie Ross Levin (Seth) and Dee Ross Kalman (Robert); and nieces, Elliana, Sariah, Toby, and Noa.
A private burial will be held the morning of June 5, 2024.
Family and Friends may gather for a funeral service June 5, 2024 at 2:30pm at the Monmouth Reform Temple.
Donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
