With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sean “Skippy” Rouse, who left this world on March 17, 2025, at the age of 36. Born in Albany, Georgia, Sean spent his formative years between Tallahassee, Florida, and Albany, Georgia. A beloved father, son, brother, and friend, he was known for his infectious energy, vibrant spirit, and deep love for his community. His presence brought joy to all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt. A visitation will be held at Mathews Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm Tuesday, March 25, 2025 with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 pm.

Sean was born on July 29, 1988, in Albany, Georgia, where he spent his childhood. As a young man, he moved to Tallahassee, Florida, where he built a life filled with friendships and new experiences. In his 20s, he returned to Albany, where he met the mother of his child and welcomed his greatest joy, his daughter. Sean’s journey was one of love, connection, and a lasting impact on those around him.

A natural entrepreneur with a passion for good food and bringing people together, Sean was well-known in his community for his culinary talents, business acumen, and larger-than-life personality. Whether through his never-ending ventures or simply sharing a meal, he had an incredible gift for turning everyday moments into cherished memories.

Above all else, Sean was a devoted father to his daughter, Finley Rouse, the light of his life. He is survived by his loving parents, Rodney Rouse and Nancy Rouse, who were his steadfast supporters. He also leaves behind his sisters, Rebecca Rouse Blalock and Kalena Rouse Meeker, along with their spouses, Mathew Snyder and Thomas Meeker. Additionally, he is survived by the mother of his child, Nicole Holloway. Sean’s love for his family was immeasurable, and his presence will always be felt in their hearts.

To know Sean was to love him. His generosity, quick wit, and ability to turn any gathering into a celebration made him truly unforgettable. Whether as a father, son, brother, entrepreneur, or friend, he left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His legacy of kindness, laughter, and community will continue to inspire those who were lucky enough to have known him.

A service to honor and celebrate Sean’s life will be held on Tuesday, March 25th at Mathews Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews. Friends and family are invited to come together to share stories, memories, and love in remembrance of a remarkable soul.

Though Sean may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. To know him was to love him—through every joy and every challenge, in moments of laughter and times of sorrow, through the brightest days and the darkest nights. His presence was a gift, and his impact will never fade.

Rest in peace, Skip. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
