Selena Mae (Weber) Mayer, 48 of Fargo, ND. Passed away peacefully in her home July 20, 2024.
Selena was born September 14, 1975 in Minot, ND to Connie (Weber) Smith. She lived the majority of her life in Minot, graduating from Minot H.S. class of 1994. Her calling in life was to serve those with special needs and disabilities.
Selena married Tom Mayer July 22, 2000. Through that union, she had two children. Her son Zachary was born sleeping December 6, 2000 (heaven needed him more). Her prayers were answered on April 23, 2002 when her daughter Felicity was born. A year later Felicity was diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP). Her life was dedicated to her beautiful daughter, her light and joy.
After her divorce with Tom (2009), she and Felicity moved to Fargo, ND to make a fresh start where she continued to work in group homes devoted to helping those with disabilities. Part of that dedication was fueled by her unconditional love of Felicity. The bond they shared was unbreakable.
Those who knew Selena experienced her love for animals. Especially her service dog, Luna. Luna helped her through many health issues throughout the last few years. Selena's struggle ended on July 20, 2024, when God called her home to heaven.
Her infectious smile, warm heart, and laughter will be forever missed by all who loved her. A special thank you to Mike Home and Carol Flieth for taking special care of Selena and Felicity, not only as friends but as part of the family.
Those who pass away never leave us, they simply walk beside us.
