Selma Ruth Duncan Mitchell

Selma Ruth Duncan Mitchell, age 78, of Hoschton, GA passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by parents, Lucius and Bethel Cronic Duncan; daughter, Tonya Ruth Mitchell; sister, Roselyn Duncan Turner and her husband Pat Turner; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil Duncan and Linda Duncan, Frank and Helen Duncan, and Nolan Duncan.
Mrs. Duncan is survived by sons, Kevin Mitchell of Monroe, GA and Jason Mitchell of Hoschton; grandchildren, Vivian Mitchell and Emmett Mitchell; sister, Betty Duncan Graves of Cumming, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mrs. Mitchell was born on December 9, 1946 in Hoschton, GA and graduated in 1966 from North Gwinnett High School. She was a retired school bus driver for Gwinnett County Public Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Buford. Mrs. Mitchell was a Methodist and a member of Sardis United Methodist Church for most of her life. She enjoyed movies, learning about history, cooking when she was younger and spending time with her friends, and she loved her pets. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Sardis Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Stephen Fountain officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 30 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
