Selma Maloof Kossol, 63, of Fredericksburg Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2025.
Born in Roanoke Virginia, she was the beloved wife of William Kossol for 36 years, a devoted mother, and a cherished grandmother. Her life was a testament to her unwavering Christian faith and servant's heart, demonstrated through countless hours of volunteer work and a deep commitment to her community.
Selma found immense joy in her faith and fellowship. For over 30 years, she was an active and dedicated volunteer at the St. Matthew Thrift Store, where she greeted everyone with warmth and an infectious smile. She was also a tireless advocate for local food security, generously giving her time at the Fredericksburg Food Cooperative to help those in need and to educate others on sustainability, clean living, and clean eating.
A member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for many years, Selma's hands were rarely still. When not volunteering, she could often be found tending to her vibrant garden, line dancing, enjoying long walks and wiggling her toes in the sand. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and faith that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, William; her three children, Kelsey, and twins Sam and Hannah; two adoring grandchildren, Tanner and Finley; son-in-law Cody Hayes; and a host of extended family and friends who were blessed by her presence.
A memorial gathering celebrating her life and entry into eternal rest will be held from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. All are welcome to attend and share in the remembrance of a truly remarkable woman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Selma's honor to Downtown Greens, a Fredericksburg non-profit that preserves and nurtures urban greenspace and community gardens for public use, to continue the work she so passionately championed.

I have kept the faith '
