The family of Seneca "Pehpehchoo" Wayne Sundown of Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan is saddened to announce his passing on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the age of 44 years.
Seneca is survived by his children: Nolan Sundown, Landon Sundown, Johnny Sundown, Jeneca Sundown, Star Sundown; step-daughter: Whitney Warner; father: Ernest Sundown; mother: Constance Sundown; step-mother: Judith Kahpoonapit; grandchild: Owi Warner; brothers: Ernest Jr., Samson, Kaitlin Sundown; sisters: Anastasia Sundown, Carmen Kahpoonapit, Fiona Kahpoonapit, Brittany Kahpoonapit, Carley Kahpoonapit, Jerrica Kahpoonapit, Mallory Kahpoonapit, Coda Sundown; special friends and mothers of his children: Amanda Warner and Joy Charles; beloved Sagoose: Angela Longboat; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Seneca was predeceased by his sisters: Samantha Sundown, Tracy Kahpoonapit, Jade Kahpoonapit; brother: Jared Kahpoonapit.
Wake, Sunday, June 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Chief Napew Memorial School Gymnasium, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan, leaving Memento Funeral Chapel, Cold Lake, Alberta at 10:00 a.m.
Funeral Service, Monday, June 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Chief Napew Memorial School Gymnasium, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan with Band Elders officiating. Pallbearers: Herb Burns, Lance Singer, Lyle George, Cordell Singer, Bernie Cantre, Cheyenne Gervais. Honorary Pallbearers: all of Seneca's friends and family. Final Resting Place, Big Island Lake Cemetery, Big Island Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan.
