Sequeta Dees

It is with severe sadness and deep reverence that we announce the passing of Sequeta Dees, age 78, of Madera, California. Sequeta passed away on September 2, 2025 in Fresno, California.

Born February 20, 1947 in Oildale, CA. Sequeta lived a life rich with warmth, creativity, and generosity. She delighted in the simple pleasures, traveling to new places, whipping up delicious treats in the kitchen, and crafting beautiful pieces through baking, sewing and crochet. Sequeta was a homemaker most of her life and very much enjoyed spending time with her husband, and family.

Though she had a passion for exploration, creativity and generosity what defined Sequeta most was her boundless kindness. She consistently placed others before herself, making everyone feel welcome and cared for. Her gentle spirit, thoughtfulness and willingness to brighten others' days will be remembered by all fortunate to have known her.

Sequeta Dees is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Douglas Dees, her daughter Kathy Merrill and husband Bill of Minden, Nevada, her daughter Shelley Fent and husband John of Fresno, California, her granddaughter Alicia Buonacorsi and husband Aaron, her granddaughter Chelsea Wylie and husband Matt, her granddaughter Cortney Fent and her grandson John Fent, Jr. and wife Indie, her step granddaughter Samantha Bowler and husband Wes, her step granddaughter Chelsea Huff and her husband Brandon. Her great grandsons Adam Buonacorsi and John Fent, III. Her sister Loveta Sands and husband Delmer and her brother Gary Cox.

She was preceded in death by her parents Doice "Buck" and Imogene Cox and her brother Gerald Cox.

A celebration of Sequeta's life will be held September 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM; Jay Chapel, 1121 Roberts Avenue, Madera, California 93637 with graveside service directly after at Arbor Vitae Cemetery.
