Sergeant Miles J. Tarron, age 30, died on Sunday, November 28, 2021 in Anchorage, AK.
Miles was born and raised in McAlester, OK, attending Frink-Chambers and McAlester High School, where he graduated in 2010. He joined the Army in 2016, where he was stationed in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and deployed to both Afghanistan and Kuwait before being assigned to the 6th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division based in Anchorage, AK. Miles was a disciplined paratrooper and earned numerous awards and decorations, including ARCOM W/C device, ARCOM W/1 oak leaf cluster, AAM W/1 oak leaf cluster, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal W/1 campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Action Badge (CAB), Parachutist Badge. He had two deployments: Afghanistan September 2017 – March 2018 and Kuwait January 2020 to May 2020.
Miles met his wife Ryann (Uselton) while they were teenagers and they wed on March 11, 2013. His greatest joys were his two kids Calleigh and Clayton and he was an amazing father to both. He was a dedicated husband, father and friend whose infections smile and light-hearted demeanor made all those around him feel welcomed. Miles also enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.
Miles is survived by his wife Ryann, and children Calleigh and Clayton. He is also survived by his father Michael Tarron; his mother Angie Gardner Miller and stepfather J. Michael Miller; a step-father Jim Marcum. His father-in-law/mother-in-law Russell and Pam Uselton and mother-in-law Robyn Laughlin. Brothers Gunner Tarron, Reed Marcum and Jaxon Tarron; sister Sydney Tarron; and step-brother Mason Miller. Maternal grandmother Judy Nobles Justice; paternal grandmother Evelyn Tarron Smith; maternal step-grandfather Chuck Justice; paternal great-grandmother Ethel Aguilar. He is also survived by maternal aunts and uncles Deanna/Phillip Coxsey and Cheryl/Randy Kelly; and paternal aunts and uncles Chris/Melissa Tarron, Brandon/Donna Tarron, and Lisa Crawford-Tarron; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather John Gardner; paternal grandfather Dennis Tarron; maternal great-grandparents Hiram Wesley and Donnie Esther Gardner, James/Lucy Nobles; paternal great-grandparents J.B./Pearline Tarron and Jesus G. Aguilar.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, December 20, at Life Church in McAlester, OK and he will be interred at Choate Prairie Cemetery in Indianola, OK. Active pallbearers will be Specialist Elijah Farley, Chris Shirley, Chance Carey, Miles Rolan, Casey Fernandez and Cameron Curry. Honorary pallbearers will be Gunner Tarron, Reed Marcum, Jaxon Tarron, Rusty Uselton, Bobby Shank and Chris Mathis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cohen Veterans Network (cohenveteransnetwork.org) or Military Veteran Project #22ADAY (militaryveteranproject.org).
