Sergio Alfredo Gutierrez, age 56 originally of Brownsville, Texas, also known as "Pollo" passed from this life on July 23, 2025 in Killeen, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, October 25th, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Killeen.
"Freddy" or "Pollo" as he was affectionately called, was born on November 18, 1968, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas Mexico. He grew up in Brownsville, Texas as a first son, grandchild, and nephew. As a young boy he earned the nickname, "Pollo" because of his haircut. His sense of humor and extroverted personality made him one of a kind person amongst those that loved him. He always told stories of when he was a paperboy at his first job. He enjoyed watching classic movies, such as King Kong and listening to music by Los Temerarios. He also liked fishing, flour tortillas, and carne asada. He will always be remembered for his ability to make and keep friends from all walks of life.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Esther Rodriguez, whom he loved and missed dearly. He was survived by his mother, Noemi De La Fuente Gutierrez, his brother Martin De La Fuente and his sister, Brenda Gutierrez Rojas. Also, his four nieces, Emily, Melody, Destiny, and Desiree.
Heartfelt thanks go out to all family members that helped him throughout the years and all of his friends for their loyal support.
Sergio Alfredo Gutiérrez, de 56 años y originario de Brownsville, Texas, también conocido como "Pollo", falleció el 23 de julio de 2025 en Killeen, Texas. El funeral se llevará a cabo a las 9:00 a. m. del sábado 25 de octubre en la Funeraria Harper-Talasek de Killeen.
"Freddy" o "Pollo," como le llamaban cariñosamente, nació el 18 de noviembre de 1968 en Matamoros, Tamaulipas, México. Creció en Brownsville, Texas, siendo primer hijo, nieto y sobrino. De niño, se ganó el apodo de "Pollo" por su corte de pelo. Su sentido del humor y su personalidad extrovertida lo convirtieron en una persona única entre quienes lo querían. Siempre contaba historias de cuando era repartidor de periódicos en su primer trabajo. Disfrutaba viendo películas clásicas, como King Kong, y escuchando música de Los Temerarios. También le gustaba la pesca, las tortillas de harina y la carne asada. Siempre será recordado por su capacidad para hacer y conservar amigos de todos los ámbitos.
Le precedió en la muerte su abuela, Esther Rodríguez, a quien amaba y extrañaba profundamente. Le sobreviven su madre, Noemí De La Fuente Gutiérrez, su hermano Martín De La Fuente y su hermana, Brenda Gutiérrez Rojas. También, sus cuatro sobrinas: Emily, Melody, Destiny y Desiree.
