Sergio Perez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rausch Funeral Home, P.A. - Lusby on Feb. 11, 2026.
Sergio Antonio Perez Jr. was a devoted husband, father, brother, and proud Masonic brother whose life was defined by service, faith, and love of family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kelly Perez; his daughters, Angelica and Adrianna Perez; his son, Joseph (Christiane) Lynch; and his sisters, Maria Perez and Cynthia (Patrick) Welsh. He also leaves behind many cherished nephews, a niece, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members who will deeply miss him.

Born in Santiago, Chile, Sergio immigrated to the United States with his family and settled in Maryland. He proudly became an American citizen, embracing his adopted country with gratitude and unwavering patriotism. He graduated from Thomas Stone High School and the College of Southern Maryland, where he was an avid member of the soccer team.

Sergio answered the call to serve by joining the United States Army, serving his country honorably as a member of the Joint Special Operations Command. His military service reflected his deep commitment to protecting and defending the freedoms he valued so greatly.

A dedicated Mason, Sergio was a Past Master of Thomas J. Shryock Lodge #223 in Hollywood, Maryland. He was also a member of the Boumi Shriners and the Valley of Southern Maryland Scottish Rite. For many years, he served as Associate Bethel Guardian for Job's Daughters International, Bethel 42, in Hollywood, Maryland, mentoring and supporting Masonic youth with generosity and pride.

Beyond his professional and fraternal commitments, Sergio was a passionate patriot, firearms enthusiast, and founder of Tango Down SOMD firearms training. He was also a licensed ham radio operator and remained deeply engaged in his community throughout his life.

Above all, Sergio was a family man. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, a caring brother and son, and a man who gave his whole heart to those he loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children in his name.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the Rausch Funeral Home, 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Ray Schmidt officiating. Interment will be private.
