Sergio Manuel Salazar Salinas, 70, of Caldwell, Idaho, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 12, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family.

He was born on May 19, 1955, in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Celia Salazar Salinas and Esmero Moreno Salazar. At the age of 7, he moved to the United States with his parents and six siblings. From an early age, he developed a deep love for horses and the outdoors. His hard work ethic began on his aunt's family ranch in Mexico. Because Sergio's father was a pastor he grew up grounded in faith and church life. Sergio earned a welding certificate and devoted over 50 years to his trade. He was known for crafting large silos and tanks. In his early 30s, he embraced his calling as a Pastor and dedicated his life to ministering and serving others with compassion, wisdom, and a loving heart.

He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Castillo Salazar, of 32 years, and their children: Amanda, Mateo, Karen (Joshua), Abby (Juan), Sergio Jr., Olivia (Carlos), Manny (Ana), Jovanique, Lupito (Erica) and Alyssa (Colton). He was a proud grandfather to over 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Esmero, Sylvia, Dellanira (Mike), Ricardo, Saul, sister-in-Law, Leti and nieces, Christina, Mandy, Precilla, and Lisa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Esmero and Celia, brother, Zacarias, and nephews, George and Rey.
