SETH DERRYCK DITTMAN
"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."
1 Corinthians 15:58
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Seth Derryck Dittman, who was called home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2025, in Spring, Texas. Seth was born on July 23, 1972, in Newberg, Oregon.
Seth was preceded in death by his loving father, Derryck Haywood Dittman. He is survived and missed by his loving family: wife, Stacey; sons, Levi and Jerome; mother, Anne Marie; in-laws, Peter and Georgia Koumantaros; siblings, Sarah (Lou) Boone, Laura (Aaron) Peltz, Adam (Beth) Dittman, and Benjamin (Sarah) Dittman. He also leaves behind many other beloved family and friends who will greatly miss him.
Growing up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, Seth enjoyed hiking, fishing, backpacking and camping with both family and his scout troop. He also loved spending time at Manzanita Beach with multiple generations of family.
Seth graduated from Tigard High School in 1990. He attended Stanford University on a football scholarship where he studied civil and environmental engineering and graduated with both a Bachelor and Master of Science.
Following college, Seth enjoyed a 10-year professional football career in the Canadian Football League, NFL Europe, and the XFL. He was a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Grey Cup Championship team in 1999 and voted a CFL Western Division All-Star for the Calgary Stampeders in 2004.
Seth met Stacey at the Metropolitan Bible Church in Ottawa, Canada, when he was playing for the Ottawa Renegades. Following their wedding in 2005, and Seth's retirement from football, they moved to the rolling hills of Dufferin County in Orangeville, Ontario. There, Seth began his engineering career at RJ Burnside and Associates. Seth and Stacey were actively involved in their local church and, together with their sons, enjoyed many years of volunteering and participating in Scouts, soccer, baseball, tennis, and Nordic skiing.
In 2022, the family moved to Spring, Texas and began attending Founders Baptist Church. Seth was proud to see both his sons graduate high school at Founders Christian School. He was fond of going for long walks with Stacey whenever the Texas heat permitted.
More important than all his other accomplishments, Seth was a steadfast believer and devoted husband and father. He touched many lives with his kindness, quiet strength, and faith in Christ.

Seth was such a kind spirit with a helpful attitude and had great determination. We had the pleasure of working with him on a courtyard landscape/remodeling project at then, Calvin Presbyterian Church (now Rise Presbyterian) in Tigard, Oregon, in the late 1990´s. His wonderful physical & mental contributions, helped the project be completed beautifully and successfully.
He will make for a wonderful guiding spirit for us all and heaven is lucky to receive him. Our sincere condolences to all of the family.

"No eye has seen,
No ear has heard,
No mind has conceived,
What God has prepared for those who love Him"

With fondness,
Nancy & Dan Jensen
