Seth Thomas Groce, age 89, of Glasgow, passed away January 28, 2025, at Shanti Niketan Hospice Home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on March 3, 1935, to the late Taylor Robert Groce and the late Catherine Dugard Groce. Seth was a retired farmer, factory worker, and woodworker. He spent his retirement shopping for antique glassware, meticulously refinishing antique furniture, and spending time with his family. Seth was a faithful member of South Green Street Church of Christ.
He is survived by his two sons, Thomas Groce (Tammy) and Gary Groce (Missy); four grandchildren, Adam Groce (Renee), Tyla Esterle (Brad), Brittany Ditmer (Brian), and Seth Groce (Whitney); seven great grandchildren, Ryan, Ada Lee, Cooper, Liam, Catherine, Luke, and Hudson; bonus grandchildren, Mica, Molly, Trigg, Wade, Jack, Ben, and Avery; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Eugenia Peden Groce; brothers, George Groce, Frank Groce, John Robert Groce, Wesley Groce, Ed Groce, Charlie Will Groce, and Rollie Groce; sisters, Kathleen Bowier, Nell Piercy; half-sisters, Hattie Groce, Ethel Coulter, and Evie Bunch
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Barren County Education Foundation in honor of Mr. Groce.
The funeral service for Mr. Groce will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 4th, at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will Monday, February 3rd, from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday morning until time for the service at the funeral home.
