In Loving Memory of Seth Don Hofmann

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of S. Don Hofmann, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected businessman, who left this world on July 10 at the age of 85.

Don lived a full and meaningful life, guided by integrity, warmth, and an unwavering dedication to both his family and career.

He was born to Seth and Betty Hofmann and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Don and his younger sister, Karon, were raised in a loving home in Albuquerque. Betty was a homemaker and Seth a pharmacist. Don graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BS in Biology and a BA in English. He pledged Pi Kappa and participated in Greek life where he made life-long friends through this organization. Upon graduation he immediately went to work for Abbott Laboratories. He was always proud to say he graduated on a Friday and started working on a Monday. He retired after working 41 years with Abbott moving up through multiple management roles.

As a successful Abbott leader, he was known not only for his sharp mind and tireless work ethic, but also for the deep respect and admiration he earned from his staff through the years. He was more than a boss - he was a mentor, a friend, and a man who led with kindness. He worked with teams in Las Vegas, Phoenix, Chicago and finished his career in Irvine, Ca.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Don's true joy came from the moments shared with his family. He cherished beach days with his grandchildren, where laughter and sandy footprints filled his heart with pride. An avid lover of the outdoors, Don found peace on the water with a fishing rod in hand, camaraderie on the golf course, and pure exhilaration watching or playing his favorite sports.

But of all his passions, nothing compared to the love he held for his wife, Celeste. Their marriage was a shining example of enduring partnership, rooted in mutual respect, devotion, and joy. Together, they built a life rich in love, family, and unforgettable memories. Through the many trips with Abbott around the world or celebrating an anniversary or special birthday with friends, their life was filled with fun and love.

Don Hofmann's legacy is one of generosity, strength, and heart. He leaves behind his cherished wife Celeste, loving children, adoring grandchildren, and countless friends, colleagues, and loved ones who will forever be touched by his presence.

He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.

A celebration of Don's life will be held on August 4 at 10:00 AM at Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary

Don was a mentor to me in my first job out of school at Abbott, and as junior as I was, he always treated me kindly and with respect. We managed to stay in touch long after we both had left Abbott -- every other year or so -- and with every new venture I tried, Don always made me feel like he was my number 1 cheerleader. What a kind, caring, and joyful man he was. I only wish I'd learned of his passing sooner; I would have attended the memorial service.
