Seth was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Stancil, and his father-in-law Ben Satterfield.
Born in Gadsden, AL on March 27th, 1984, Seth was a 2002 graduate of Rabun County High School. He began his career at the Birmingham Zoo, where he worked for 6 years before becoming a Quality Control Officer in Atlanta, GA. For the past year, he served as a Supplier Quality Engineer for Siemens.
Both Seth and Amber were active participants at various local conventions, including DragonCon, which is an annual multi-media and pop culture event held on Labor Day Weekend in Atlanta. Seth was a talented costume and prop maker, having won several awards for his unique costumes. Often, he worked as a moderator and panelist for the Fantasy Track at DragonCon and was appointed as the Fantasy Track Director for a convention known as JordanCon, also held in Atlanta each year. He adored all things Brandon Sanderson, loved board games and video games, and dog training. Most of all, he loved cosplay, and he loved the friends he made through cosplay.
Seth was very devoted to Amber, his mother, and his role at JordanCon. He was a kind and gentle soul with a heart of gold. Each year, he often volunteered as the Grinch for the Marietta Tree Lighting ceremony and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by his adoring family and many friends.
Per Seth's request, his remains will be cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life / Memorial Service to be held at a later date for his family and friends.
