Seth N. Lockhart, age 41, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 9th, 2025, from complications from sleep apnea. He is survived by his fiancée of 11 years, Amber Kayla Satterfield of Lawrenceville, GA (whom he had planned to marry in January); his mother, Jamie J. Stancil of Gadsden, AL; his brother, Jable Stancil of Clayton, GA as well as Jable's children, Kevin, Lillian, and Jasmine; his maternal grandmother, Anna Mae Denk of Navarre, FL; his maternal aunts, Pam Smith and Jennifer Teifke of Navarre, FL; his uncle, Jimmie Jones of Attalla, AL; his paternal aunt, Susan Groom of Lakemont, GA; his mother-in-law, Julie Satterfield Casteel, of Callahan, FL; his sisters-in-law, Dianna Cronic (husband Michael Cronic), Anita Satterfield Webb, Aimee Thurmond (husband Greg), Deigh Satterfield Martin, and Jessica Corcoran (husband Michael Blitch); his dogs, Toph and Sylvie, who were like children to him; as well as many friends who were as family to him. Seth was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Stancil, and his father-in-law Ben Satterfield.
Born in Gadsden, AL on March 27th, 1984, Seth was a 2002 graduate of Rabun County High School. He began his career at the Birmingham Zoo, where he worked for 6 years before becoming a Quality Control Officer in Atlanta, GA. For the past year, he served as a Supplier Quality Engineer for Siemens.
Both Seth and Amber were active participants at various local conventions, including DragonCon, which is an annual multi-media and pop culture event held on Labor Day Weekend in Atlanta. Seth was a talented costume and prop maker, having won several awards for his unique costumes. Often, he worked as a moderator and panelist for the Fantasy Track at DragonCon and was appointed as the Fantasy Track Director for a convention known as JordanCon, also held in Atlanta each year. He adored all things Brandon Sanderson, loved board games and video games, and dog training. Most of all, he loved cosplay, and he loved the friends he made through cosplay.
Seth was very devoted to Amber, his mother, and his role at JordanCon. He was a kind and gentle soul with a heart of gold. Each year, he often volunteered as the Grinch for the Marietta Tree Lighting ceremony and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be greatly missed by his adoring family and many friends.
Per Seth's request, his remains will be cremated. There will be a Celebration of Life / Memorial Service to be held at a later date for his family and friends. Anyone wishing to offer any contributions may make donations to the GoFundMe set up by Seth's friends to help cover expenses (https://www.gofundme.com/in-memory-of-seth-lockhart-to-support-amber) in memory of Seth Lockhart. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.wagesfuneralhome.com. Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, 120 Scenic Highway, Lawrenceville, GA 30046 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
