Jack Carter Wilson, formerly of Clayton, Georgia passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, just one day short of his 81st birthday. He was the son of the late Glenn Carter Wilson and Avelene Wilson of Clayton, Georgia

He lived a life shaped by love for his family, the many friends from Rabun County, and around Atlanta. In 2023 he moved to Gladys, Virginia where he spent his last days.

Jack was born on January 29, 1945, in Clayton, but lived in Highlands, North Carolina until 6th grade when the family moved to Clayton. He graduated from Rabun County High school at Clayton, where he met and married his sweetheart Jenni (Dickson)Wilson. He moved to Atlanta in 1966 where he built his career, and lived in Gwinnett County, Georgia for 54 years. He attended church at Bethesda United Methodist in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

When he was younger, he spent many hours fishing the small creeks of Rabun County for trout but didn't turn down an opportunity to fish a lake for other fish. He also loved hunting and was the president of The Trail Blazer's Deer Club in Georgia for many years where he formed strong bonds.

Jack was the devoted husband of Jenni for 62 years, a proud father to his sons, Chris, Joe and Glenn, grandchildren, Brittny, Tyler, Katie and Christy, great grandchildren, Kaylyn, Sadie, Emerson, Gannon, Ivy and in June, Beau. Nothing brought him more pride than his growing family.

He was an only child but enjoyed playing with his many cousins around Highlands. He loved his nieces and nephews from Jenni's side and Jenni's brother, Norris and sister, Laverne as his own.

The body will be cremated, and a memorial service will be planned for the spring.
