Seth Ryan Stephens August 27, 1977 – September 17, 2025 Born to Susan and Holland Stephens on August 27th, 1977 at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, KS, Seth Stephens was a beloved son, grandson, dad, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend. Seth graduated from Wichita Heights High School and maintained deep bonds with many childhood friends throughout his life. His early years were full of good times, adventures and stories worth sharing. He lived with his mom in Florida for elementary and much of middle school. They spent time in Miami, Tampa and Sarasota. As a teenager, he took the trip of a lifetime with his brother Chad for several weeks in Hawaii. Seth was in his element there and absorbed every moment, always looking back fondly on how the time shaped him. He and his dad were cut from the same cloth, both enjoyed connection with friends, animals and earth's mysteries. They thought deeply about the great beyond and what it meant to have this human experience. After his dad was paralyzed in an accident, Seth took care of him for the last 10 years of Holland's life. His devotion to his dad and perseverance in this difficult circumstance was inspiring. The two were always close and shared an appreciation for philosophy and ancient civilizations. Seth's longtime love and constant source of support, Amanda Seiwert, gave birth to their son, Xavier, in 2010. Seth's greatest joy came from being a proud father. He told everyone he knew about his son getting his dream car for 8th grade promotion. He always beamed with pride when sharing Xavier's latest piece played on the piano or organ. Seth didn't pretend to be a perfect parent, but he hoped to make up for anything he lacked with deep love, outrageous encouragement and an open mind. Seth lived life in sync with the creator and anyone who spent time with him left with a sense of wonder. He was drawn to technology, graphic design, automation and science. His connection to the cosmos was intrinsic. Seth's spiritual side was strong. He was smart, energetic, aware and in tune with our ancestors. Regrets? Sure, we all have some. But, Seth made it to the other side with kindness in his heart and a smile on his face. Those of us lucky enough to love him and be loved by him, say thank you. We appreciate every experience for the gift that it was to be in his orbit.
Preceded in death by his dad Holland Stephens and grandparents Erma and Otto Stephens, Louis Foster Wilder and Gene Wilder. Seth is survived by his son Xavier Stephens, partner Amanda Seiwert, mother Susan Stephens, brother Chad Ward, and many deeply connected cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He will be dearly missed in our daily lives and treasured for eternity.
