Sethubai Canamedi

Sethubai Canamedi, age 93, of Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, at her daughter's residence in Oakbrook, Illinois. She was born on October 22 1931 in Chitradurga lndia, the second of seven siblings. She married in 1949 and began raising her family in India. A determined and industrious woman, she founded and operated a sari business from her home for over twenty years. In addition to her love for needlework and art, she found her greatest joy in the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In 2002, she and her husband moved to Illinois to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children Chandrika (Dhruva) Tilwalli and Kiran (Teju) Canamedi; her grandchildren, Shilpa (Anand) Tilwalli, Nikhil (Reshma) Tilwalli, and Anika Canamedi; and her great-grandchildren, Gautham, Darshan, Mira and Arjun. She was preceded in death by her husband Govindrao Canamedi. Funeral services will be held at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home in Bolingbrook, Illinois, on Wednesday, June 16, at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 12:00 PM.
