SFC Wayne Laverne Miller, 70, of DeRidder, LA passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026. Graveside service will be Friday, March 6 at 11am at Community Cemetery. Rev. Elliot Ford will officiate.
Wayne is survived by his two children, Jason Miller of Richmond, VA and Sharmaine Miller of Richmond, VA; two grandsons, Tyshon and Miles; three sisters, Vera Camel of Lafayette, LA, Josie Thrash of Shreveport, LA and Debora Ajala of Carencro, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Venton & Mary Miller; brother, Vernon Miller; and sister, Sharon Miller.
Wayne was a SFC in the United States Army where he received numerous medals and decorations, some include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal. His family was a priority for him; he loved his children fiercely. He loved to walk and attend family gatherings where he played with his nieces and nephews. He loved to read his Bible and live for the Lord as well. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
