George was born on June 7, 1959, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to the late Thomas Willard Jeanette and Shirley Jean (Carlisle) Thompson. He graduated from Delton High School with the class of 1978. While in high school, George sang in the school choir and took part in the school bible study. He continued his education to receive his bachelor’s degree in applied arts at CMU in 1991.

George's service in the United States Army was a source of great pride for him and his family. He served as a Sergeant and was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Basic Recruiter Badge, Expert Badge (M-16), and Expert Badge (Hand Grenade), a testament to his dedication and commitment to his country.

George's love for his family was unparalleled. He enjoyed listening to country music when he was driving around the country in his 18-wheeler. Some of his favorites were C.W. McCall's “Convoy,” Alabama's “Roll On,” Jonny Cash, and the Statler Brothers, to name a few. George also enjoyed USCCA, genealogy, motorcycles, golfing, NASCAR, trucking, lawn care and photography. He served as a pastor for two years and worked for a women's shelter. Above all, George was all about his children and grandchildren, a testament to his unwavering love and dedication.

George is survived by his wife, Roberta “Bobbi” (Nichols) Jeanette, whom he married on January 9, 2011, in Climax, MI; his children: Rene Jeanette of Battle Creek, MI, George Michael (Andrea) Jeanette Jr. of Delton, MI, Andrew (Jae) Nichols of Concord, MI, Thomas (TJ) Gilchrist of Florida, and Katherine (Aaron) Valentine; grandchildren, Devon Jeanette, KayLeigh "Kay” Buffum Jeanette, Michael “Bub”  Jeanette, Emma Jeanette, Dominick “Dom” Nichols, Aubrey   Jo Jeanette, Edward Valentine, Abigail “Abby” Valentine, and Zaedyn Fryman. George is also survived by his siblings, Jeffery “Jeff” Jeanette and Floyd “Ed” Thompson.

George was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Baylee Stenman-Jeanette, and five siblings.
