Shana Ann Blackwell, 39, of Athens, departed this life on August 9, 2023, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
She was born on June 3, 1984, in Cleveland, Tennessee to Cyrethea Blackwell Stanton and the late Bennie Blackwell.
In addition to her father, Bennie Blackwell, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joshua Presley; along with her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Throughout life, Shana dearly loved her children and grandchildren,and enjoyed spending time with her grandbabies, helping others, water tubing,and spending her summer days on Lake Ocoee. She will forever be remembered as Miss Momma and Prissy to her mother and siblings, but the most cherished name that she went by was that of GiGi by her grandbabies.
Left to cherish the many memories include her children, Brieanna Blackwell, Mataylia (Gage) League, Cody Blackwell, and Dakota Hughes; mother, Cyrethea Stanton; lifelong companion, James Hughes; siblings, Travis (Elizabeth) Blackwell, Jessica (Timothy) Stanton, James Presley, Jonathan Presley, and Ben Martin; grandchildren, Raylan Hinz, Tucker Hinz,Maylee League, and Blakely Blackwell.
A Remembrance of Life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, in the chapel of Higgins Funeral Home, with Reverend Timothy Stanton officiating. Interment will follow at Old Ocoee Cemetery, with Cody Blackwell, Dakota Hughes, Jonathan Presley, Travis Blackwell, Tyler Blackwell, and Gage League serving as pallbearers.
Family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
