With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Shane Colton Albert, 25, of
Amston, CT, who tragically left this world far too soon on Monday, February 23, 2026, leaving his family and friends completely heartbroken. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Shane's final moments were spent bravely helping others during a snowstorm. His selflessness will forever be remembered.
Shane was born in a close-knit family on April 14, 2000, in
New Britain, CT, the only son to Keith and Jennifer (Shepard) Albert and the proud older brother and best friend to Daniela Albert. The bond he shared with his sister was unparalleled; Shane loved her immensely, the kind of love that only siblings can share. Shane treated her like royalty, always looking out for her best interests and ensuring she felt cherished and protected.
From a young age, Shane demonstrated a remarkable mechanical aptitude and a passion for hands-on work. Sporting his treasured cowboy hat, he attended Rham High School until the 10th grade, where he made the courageous decision to enroll at Penn Foster, enabling him to accelerate his education and achieve his high school diploma faster. Shane was truly an old soul with a desire to step into the workforce and make his mark on the world. And that is exactly what he did!
Shane began working alongside family members at Nadeau Brothers Foundation, allowing him to carve his path in the construction industry. Shane's ambition knew no bounds; he was always eager to advance in his career. Over the last several years, he held a position as a heavy equipment operator with the IUOE Local 478, a career he held in high regard and planned to retire from. Shane was a true testament to the saying that if you love what you do, it will never feel like work. His enthusiasm and drive inspired those around him, leaving a lasting impact on his colleagues and friends.
Shane was a passionate enthusiast of all things with an engine, which was evident in everything he did. His devotion to his trucks was unmatched, no matter what the condition the truck might be in and what others thought of it. You always knew when Shane was driving by or taking off and if he was not driving, he had a remarkable ability to mimic the sounds of his beloved trucks, which will be instilled in the minds of those who had the pleasure of experiencing him do so.
A vibrant spirit known for his infectious laughter and profound sense of humor, he had a unique ability to bring joy to any moment. With music always playing in the background of his life or a little dance to go along with it, he created an atmosphere of celebration wherever he went. He absolutely loved life and never took a single day for granted. His loving nature was matched by his courage to stand up for himself and others. He inspired those around him, reminding us all the power of compassion and the importance of supporting one another.
Shane was a lover of nature and was always up for exploring the great outdoors. He cherished every moment spent by a bonfire, snowmobiling up North, boating, fishing, and riding ATVs. Above all, Shane loved being surrounded by his family and friends at every chance he could. Though Shane's time with us was brief, it was filled with adventure and love, and we celebrate the positive impact he left behind. He will be missed beyond measure, but his spirit will continue to inspire us to live fully and cherish each moment.
Shane is survived by his beloved parents, Keith and Jennifer Albert, of Amston; his cherished sister, Daniela Albert, of Amston; his Papa, Raymond Shepard, of
Stuart, FL; his Grandma, Maria Elena Pensiero, of Amston; his aunt and uncle, Shelby Nadeau and Norman Nadeau, of Berlin; his cousins, Peyton Nadeau and Cole Nadeau, of Berlin; his uncle, Ryan Shepard, of Berlin; and many extended family members, colleagues, and friends. Shane was eagerly expecting the arrival of his baby girl, a blessing who would have brought him immeasurable joy. He was predeceased by his Pépère and Mémère, Clifford Albert and Liette Albert.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 2 to 5 PM at Plainville Funeral Home, 81 Broad Street, Plainville.
