Roger Shane Bruce, age 51 of Felicity, Ohio passed away Friday, January 21, 2022. He was born March 12, 1970 in Georgetown, Ohio the cherished son of Roger and Melanie (Gray) Bruce of Felicity, Ohio. His journey through life was marked by love and faith, beginning with his baptism on May 4, 1980 at the Higginsport Christian Church in Higginsport, Ohio. Shane was a 1988 graduate of Ripley High School in Ripley, Ohio and the Joint Vocational School in Georgetown, Ohio. Following his education, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a programmer for MMT in Batavia, Ohio, where he dedicated over 20 years of his life. Shane had an extraordinary zest for life—he embraced every moment with the enthusiasm of a "big kid" at heart. His infectious smile and warm demeanor made it impossible for anyone to remain a stranger for long. Known for his generosity, Shane was always ready to lend a helping hand or bring laughter to those around him. Outside of work, he cherished his time spent deer hunting and indulging in his passion for tinkering in the garage - a sanctuary where his creativity flourished and where countless joyful memories were made. Shane's love for his daughter's was evident through his dedication to coaching their youth soccer, basketball and softball teams. His encouragement and guidance inspired young athletes to believe in themselves, creating a lasting impact in their lives. As we remember Shane, we celebrate his love for life, his kindness and his unwavering ability to bring joy to others. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Shane was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents – Charles and Gladys (Adams) Bruce and paternal grandparents – Owen and Beulah (Bramel) Gray.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bruce is survived by two daughters – Shaunee Adams and husband Wade of Tollesboro, Kentucky and Harley Bruce of Mt.Orab, Ohio; one step-daughter - Mercedes Haley and husband Michael of Georgetown, Ohio; two grandchildren – Remi and Asher Adams and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private graveside services were held Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the Confidence Cemetery in Georgetown, Ohio. The Cahall Funeral Home in Georgetown, Ohio is serving the family.
