CARBONDALE - Shane Thomas Moore, age 29, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Born on February 16, 1996, in Saint Paul, MN, Shane filled our lives with joy and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Shane was a talented welder, honing his skills in the industry with passion and dedication. Whether he was fabricating metal or simply enjoying a good time with friends, Shane was known for his kind heart, creative spirit, and his loyalty to his family and friends. His hobbies included restoring his beloved Z, riding his motorcycle, creating metal and wooden art, live action role playing games, and online gaming with many friends near and far. Shane was passionate and skilled in martial arts. He loved his adoptive city of Tucson, Arizona and had planned to return.
Shane is survived by his loving parents, Lori Kubes and Christopher Moore; brother Patrick Moore, sister Madison Moore, biological mother Kelly (Michael Shannon O’Keefe) Pirro, special friend Trendon Wolaver, biological grandparents, adoptive grandparents, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
To celebrate Shane’s life and the indelible mark he left on our hearts, a time to share stories and cherished memories will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Meredith Funeral Home in Carbondale. Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation starting at 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Shane’s name to the Autism Society of Southern Illinois or St. Francis CARE Animal Shelter and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Though he may have left this world far too soon, Shane's spirit will continue to live on in our hearts and through the stories we share, celebrating every moment he brought joy into our lives.
