Shane Austin Young-Lopez, known affectionately as Shane to his family and friends, passed away on July 12, 2025, at the age of 29. Born on June 24, 1996, in Mt. Holly, New Jersey.
Shane was a vibrant soul whose life was a testament to his loving, intelligent, and generous spirit. Shane was the cherished son of Anthony (Tony) Lopez and Theresa A. Young-Lopez. He grew up in a close-knit family, sharing an unbreakable bond with his sister, Natalie A. Young, and delighting in the role of doting uncle to his niece, NayLoni T. Young, and nephew, Sylas K. Young. Shane's expansive family circle included his uncles John M. Young, Tommie A. Young, James (Donald) Young, Roy K. Young, Tito Rivera, and Rick Mohorn; his aunts Brenda Lopez, Haydee Lopez, Cindy Baron, Victoria Brant, Patricia Morhorn, Sherry Roth, and Kristine Donnelly; his godparents Michael Brant and Sonia Cruz; and numerous cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
A proud graduate of Pemberton High School, Shane's thirst for knowledge and passion for the arts led him to the sunny state of California. There, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from LA Films with an Associate and Bachelor's Degrees. Shane's creative mind blossomed in this environment, and he went on to publish two short stories in fictional books, leaving a legacy of imagination and storytelling. Shane's contributions extended beyond his academic and literary achievements. His love for playing basketball, making music, and creating movies were not just hobbies but also ways in which he connected with others and shared his zest for life. Shane was a Christian who lived his faith through his actions, showing kindness and compassion to all he encountered. His creative soul found joy in playing video games and watching scary movies, especially when joined by his beloved niece, NayLoni. Throughout his life, Shane's intelligence was evident not only in his academic pursuits but also in his thoughtful conversations and insightful perspectives. His generosity knew no bounds, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer support to those in need. He also worked at Wilsonart in Moorestown, NJ. Shane's loving nature was the cornerstone of his existence, providing a foundation of warmth and care that enveloped his family and friends. Shane's lifelong friends, Wanya and Ryan, stood by him through thick and thin, a testament to the loyalty and deep connections he fostered throughout his life. His presence was a gift to those who had the privilege of knowing him, and his absence will be felt profoundly. As we mourn the loss of Shane Austin Young-Lopez, we also celebrate the remarkable life he led. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact he made will endure in the hearts and memories of those who loved him. Shane's story is one of creativity, passion, and love-a narrative that will continue to inspire and influence us all. Shane's legacy is a reminder to live fully, love deeply, and laugh often, as he did every day of his life. We bid farewell to a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, godson, and friend. Shane, you were a beacon of light in this world, and your spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts forever.
