Shannon Lee Bare, 56, of Wilkesville, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Shannon is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Danelle Bare of Vinton, Ohio; his son, Terry (Dianna) Jewell of Pomeroy, Ohio; and his stepson, Jonathan (J.D.) Marcum of Athens, Ohio, seven grandchildren: Skyanna, Zack, Bella, Jayden, Jesse, Ashden, and Hayden; siblings: Shaye Bare of Jackson, Ohio, Boomer Bare of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Eric Bare of Newark, Ohio; two sisters, Amber Bare (Kevin Jewell) and Emily Hill; and his cat, Peepers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Bare; his father, Herbert Bare; his brothers, Shawn Bare and Shane Bare; and his son, Shannon L. Bare, Jr.
Shannon was self-employed and known as a true jack-of-all trades. He could fix or build just about anything with his hands and took pride in his hard work. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson, spending time with his family, and working on various projects. Shannon had a big heart and would help anyone in need without a second thought.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, from 2PM-5PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Per his wishes, cremation will follow. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
